Methodology

Exactly how the ranking is built. Only calculations that are applied to the data are described here.

Who qualifies

A player enters the ranking after at least 10 matches since 01 Jan 2026 in which a match rating and minutes played were recorded. The requirement counts matches played, whether the player started or came on as a substitute. It is not a count of starts.

Players whose gender is not recorded are not ranked.

Average rating

A player's average rating is the plain average of the match ratings in the data window, rounded to two decimals. Every qualifying match carries the same weight. There is no adjustment for league strength, opponent, minutes played or number of matches.

Order of the ranking

Players are ordered by average rating, highest first. When two players have the same average rating, the player with more minutes played ranks higher. Any remaining tie is settled by player ID, so the order is always the same.

Men and Women are ranked separately and each list is numbered from 1. The site lists the first 10,000 players of each.

Data window

The ranking uses one fixed window: all recorded matches since 01 Jan 2026. There is no separate current-season or rolling twelve-month view.

Player statistics

Matches played, matches started, minutes, goals and assists are totals over the same matches that make up the average rating. Matches started is the number of those matches in which the player was in the starting line-up.

The starting and substitute averages split the same matches by whether the player started. The substitute figure is shown only for players who came on at least once.

Club is the team the player appeared for in the most recent match in the window. League is the competition in which that player has played the most matches for that club.

Updates

Matches are added to the database as their records are collected, and the ranking is recalculated every hour. The Last updated time on the ranking page shows when the most recent recalculation ran: 06 Nov 2026, 16:15 UTC.
